The Vw Beetle is a classic not for its sheer HP.But it performs well for what it was intended. It is a classic for its reliability and drivability. The 308 may not be an 'ultra fast car' However, it performs just fine for its time and age. Would have the 250 Testa Rossa have become a classic if it hadn't perform well on the track?? Yes, she is beautiful but the V12 engine helped build her reputation. Cars become classics for different reasons, not just looks....
