Just finished filming the Timing Belt Service on my 360

I've done the video step by step as DIY as possible without the need for very expensive tools. Hope its good and easy to follow.

It's part of the full 'major' I've been filming on the other thread but thought I would do a separate thread to make 'timing belt change' easy to find when searched.

enjoy

i've read your actuator dissembly , great insight and work.

but, i have to question one thing on your timing belt swap.

when you take out the old belt , i think u should mark the belt in reference to the cam pulley as well. The way you do it, there will be tiny changes to timing, or at least introduce a possibility of changes, don't you think?

Great Video - can you elaborate on how to remove the right hand timing cover - I can't get mine out does not seem to be enough room without removing the water pipe. I did remove the clamp. My car is a 360 spider?

Also do you have any advice or video of replacing the cam cover gaskets? cutting and getting room to work around the front between the cams

I was told to remove the cam bearing cap to get access?

Again great information on doing the belt replacement.

I know I'm no Scott but I'll answer that first part. I've heard of some people able to finesse the cover out but I don't and recommend open the water pipe. It's only one clamp to loosen. An it's a good thing, that way you do a coolant flush too. Those 360 that get into heat-exchanger issues contaminating the transaxle with coolant are typically the ones that never get a coolant flush. I know the maintenance schedule is not specifying coolant change interval but it deserve a renewal, I'm doing it every other oil change, it's cheap...
My 2 cents...

Video did not work for me. Did you degree the cams or just do a lock and swap?

You'd be correct. These sort of "labor savings" procedures ensure problems down the road, due to deferred maintenance. And folks wonder why Ferraris have a reputation for expensive repairs/premature component failures....
