Hello,

first of all: My name is Jan, 22 yesars old and a student. Ok, now it's time for more interseting/important things: FERRARI.
does somebody has information about the history and specs of the Ferrari 166 series?
I already have a lot of information, but it is almost impossible to get the right information, because Ferari has always been a bit secret about the specifications of their cars. (especially in the early years). Furthermore the 166's were not real 'serie-models' as Ferrari claimed. This is because the cars always changed a bit in lenght, motor, body etc. They kept adjusting the cars.
I have different books and consulted lots of internet sites and they all write slighty different stories.
So, I am looking for as much as information I can, in order to get a clear picture as best as possible.

welkom op de site!
As for the specifications on 166 models. There's a lot of info in the Registry section on this site. The early models weren't indeed no big series and cars were delivered to the likings and desires of the owner, so finding two early cars who are 100% the same would be difficult.

Welcome Jan, hmm another dutchie on board, where are the belgians when i need them

well they did have some "serie"models in the 166 Models
take for instance the 166 MM Barchetta, 25 build of wich most of them are the same
or the 166 Inter,37 build, and the had the same engine all 2 litres, since the ones that received 2.3 litre engines where actually 195 Inter's then

One of the best sources regarding the 166 series, is the book "Ferrari Tipo 166" by Angelo Tito Anselmi. The book is old (1984), but really good. I have the Italian version, but there is also an English version. There is currently one for sale at Marktplaats.nl.

I have it in English. I have no idea where I bought it though... I think at www.bol.com, but they do not have it right now... I also bought a Dino book there, also very informative

Specific books about one series are usually pretty expensive. That is not much fun being a student since I already have most general information books, which all tell the same story
