Does anyone currently know
"what road legal car is currently the fastest in the world"?
Not including, if it has been powered up!
Am I correct if I believe that the cars are the Koenigsegg CCX and the Bugatti Veyron?
Thanks for any insights...:drive:

Fastest, meaning top speed, should be the Veyron.

Quickest, meaning acceleration time, could be one of those monster 1200hp Vipers with less than 2 second 0-60mph time! That is spine-snapping acceleration.

Bristol Figher...

Hi all,
I have done some research, and all of you
are talking about the Bristol Fighter.
This car can go up to 230 mph per hour with 650 Hp.
Although, I have read in a magazine that there is a new way more
powerful version called the "Fighter T"!
It has 755 kilowatt and can go up to 434 km MAX.
But the english decided to control it electronically to 360 km MAX.
It is said to have been based on the exisitng 8 litre V10 of the dodge viper.
It can currently go to 0-96 in 3.5 seconds and costs Australian 850 000 dollars and is believed that if the Bugatti veyron isn't fast enough, the Bristol has the answer!

Before 2003, the 550 Maranello had the record for a production car, per FIA.

Now the Lambo has it. Nuts.

I hope the 599 tries for the record.

:)

THe SSC looks very very impressive indeed!
But is it faster in KMPH than the Bristol Fighter T - 434KMPH VS ?

The 275 mph Melling Hellcat (a fantasy?) was posted in the Maserati forum:

That's funny for two reasons:

1. That "Maserati of Minneapolis" is actually stapled on to a Mazda dealership (I've looked around here a few times).

2. The Melling Hellcat: It has the front end / headlights of a Nissan 350z, the tail lights of some sort of Lotus Elise / z06 hybrid, and the profile of an elongated Z4M Coupe.

It's very interesting though - that image shows a top speed in 6th as 293.8 mph at 7200 RPM

I thought so too. It's strangely compelling. Frankenstein's monster car.

Ugly

These cars maybe fast but damn are they ever ugly. Bottom line on cars like this is that unless you track them which few will ever do there's just no place to run them at least here on the west coast of the U.S. So while a fast car is nice and fun to have give me a great looking car with 400-500 hp and I'm good to go. In fact most of the time you can't use all of that.
