I think I'm still a couple of years away from my first Ferrari, but right now I'd be hard pressed to choose between a 360 or a 550.

The local dealer really likes the F355 but his only hesitation in recommending it are the high maintenance costs, i.e. pulling the engine for major service.

He really likes the 360 for overall driving feedback, performance and maintenance costs. And he commented that he thought that with the introduction of a new V8 around the corner, the cost of one in a couple of years could be a real bargain.

Then there's the 550, more brute power, more weight etc. but it's a 12. On the other hand, it's not available with the F1 styel paddle shift which I think I'd rreally like.

What are your thoughts on the pros/cons of all three? Driving impressions would really be appreciated.

Thanks.

Imho all three cars are great. I think it just depends what kind of experience you want , and what you plan on doing with it. For all out performance money no object the 360 is your car. zip around town etc. If you can stand the wait I would wait until the next generation debuts. as the price will have come down alot to just a little more than what a 355 costs right now. The 360 being a much better car. As is the 355 to a 348. Much better being relative of course. The 360 is a razor blade. The 550 a very sharp knife. Great for touring, more comfoftable. IMHO you cant go wrong with any of them. Just be sure to check them out thoroughly. Maint historys etc. I currently own a black 93 512TR thats been very reliable, has immense street presence, and great perfomance. Send me a private message if youd like to discuss this some more. I hope I have been at least a little help. 8)

go for the 360 or...

hi i like the ferrari 360 f1 by myself but if you like the 550 with an f1 you need to buy the ferrari 575 f1! So it's possible to drive kind a 550 with f1 gear! But i like the 360 spider F1 even more!
