Well the short answer is that I need to get to school quicker
The longer and honest answer is something to do with the UK tax man.
Having worked as an IT contractor in banking, I was paid via my own limited companies. Needless to say, one day the nice tax man came a knocking at my door and demanded a shed load of cash from me. Now don't get me wrong, I always paid what my accountant told me to. But, I'm a computer consultant, not an accountant etc.
Anyway, this battle has been going on for some time and it finally got resolved about a month ago. So, I found my self in the fortunate position of not having to pay over quite as much as I first feared. Hence, I thought **** it, I've always wanted a 355 Spyder, and what with the annual Le-Mans trip coming up, it was the order of the day.
However, I'm now back in study (doing Aerospace as computers bore me) and unlike a lot of F car owners, my resources are not inexhaustible. Hence, why I want a cheap-ish rear grille. Besides, the item is effectively wire mesh, stamped out on a press and then painted black. Just because it's made for the prancing pony, does not make it seem good value to me at Ferrari's quoted price.
Interestingly, there seem to be a lot of others who are after these grilles as well, see Ferrari chat and Ferrari Ad web sites. I'm surprised that no one has produced a pattern item as of yet. QV London say they are having some made, but this story has been told to others for a long time and still no supply is evident.
Advice always welcome
