This is my first Ferrari purchase. I've done some research, but I'm frustrated by the confliciting answers I've received to my queries.
I'm VERY interested in a 1995 Roso Barchetta/Beige Interior. My
only conerrn is the improvements made in subsequent years.
Can anyone tell me what they are, and in their opinion their
relative significance.

Thanks in advance,
Gregg

The one that comes to my mind is the premature valve-guide wear issues with '95's. This would be a significant issue.

This was a factory recall and would've been performed when the car was taken in for major servicing. So the likelyhood it would've be done to the majority of '95's is good, since seven years have past and between then and now, I should hope most have seen a major service.

If its a garage-queen, or well-driven, ask and see records that it has been done (regardless of mileage).

That's all that I know about 355's...

The 95's run two mass airflow sensors as opposed to the 1 by the later years. The 95's also have OBDI as opposed to the OBDII that the later years have. This resulted in the 95s having more power and feeling faster. The peak power is the same, but it supposedly has a broader torque curve. The 95's are supposed to sound the best too.

Thanks for your replies, new owner now!

Thanks very much for your replies. I purchased the 95 F355 Sypder,
Rosso Barchetta (sp?), tan interior last week. I am, of course, in awe
of the car. The sound at 7500-8000 rpms is the best "noise" I've ever heard in my life !

Gregg

95 F355

Thanks ! I have her now, and I'm thoroughly smitten. I'm going to drive to the Hill country (Fredericksburg, near Austin, Tx) this Friday
to more fully enjoy the car on the twisties there.

Gregg,

Not to ask you what you paid.......

What were the price ranges you've seen for these F355's?

I am researching 308's, 328, and F355's.

Darren,

I've seen price ranges from 99k to 123k. Price seems to
be tied very closely to mileage. I'm very fond of my 95
F355. It has been nothing but a gas.

Prices of 355s

Ive seen 355s depending on mileage, start in the 70s (for like 30K miles).

Seeing as I own a 355 I'm somewhat impartial but I think over the 308, 328 or 348 it is hands down a better car. The rule I was always taught was buy as new a car as you can afford, technology marches forward and these cars have done nothing but benefit from it.
