Does anyone have any experience with anything besides the Tubi? I'm debating on one for my F355 Berlinetta. I've only heard the Tubi vs Stock as most people have the tubi but I was wondering if the others have similar sounds at idle and WOT.
Any help or where sound clips are available would be much appreciated.

Sebastian,

I have an ANSA on my 308 GTB. It's not as loud as the others, but it has a pleasing note. It's a little tinny until the muffler warms up. I feel it's just the right sound for my carburetted 308 as I can hear the Webers breathing over the exhaust sound.

Can't give any real help, but let me just make sure that you are aware of one particular item. In the more modern cars, the factory has done a better job than in the past with exhuast systems. An aftermarket exhuast, while sounding better, may actually reduce your horsepower. If this is a concern, then I would not buy an exhuast until you see a back to back dyno sheet from a third party. If however, you are looking for the exhuast note, and hp isn't the main concern then some of the OEM now offer sound clips of their products on their websites.

good luck!

I tend to agree with Tom. I "tend" to just because I don't have the research or background to back an opinion up.

I do have Tubi on my GTB and I love it. The sound is great, not obnoxious and is pleasant for longer drives. Does it cut on overall bhp? Not a clue but I'm not the type that looks to push my little car's envelope.

It's up to you.

Forza,

From what other 355 owners have told me and what claims tubi makes, there is supposed to be a 7% hp gain and a 50% weight reduction over OEM. I could care less about that, I'm just looking for a product that will give a little more of an F1 race tone. I liked tubi's tone but it was not deep enough for my tastes. Borla is known to make very deep sounding systems but I'm afraid it may be too overwhelming at higher RPM's. ANSA seems about right. Only heard one on a 348 but sounded pretty good.

Thanks for the help.

I really like the sound of Stebro... I think it's a little throatier/deeper than the Tubi's I've heard (and about half the price, too, since they don't worry about their stainless being so highly polished that it looks like chrome the way Tubi does).

If you have a V8 car i would definately recommend tubi- the sound of the exhaust/engine combination going through an underpass @ 8000rpm canoot be beaten. Yes its loud, Yes it sounds like an F1, Yes it's a Ferrari.

Tubi is essential for any of the V8 cars :) ....although i think it would be a bit out of character on a 456GT or 550/575.

Me, I think you are writing about exhaust systems. When mine wears out, I will go to my Ferrari Dealer and get it replace. I cannot think I am a better mechinic than Ferrari. There are no opions for performance on a Ferrari. At least I do not think so on my 550.

End of story.

Now THIS is a 550 with performance options (just not street legal, I don't think). I'm not sure they mean they will put the exhaust on themselves. They will of course have someone else do it. Also the tubi actually does add power to the car which means its better than the Ferrari version, for increasing speed and power.

On any V8 Ferrari a Tubi is a must - on the V12s we find that the Tubis are nice but many people find them too loud in the critical 1.5k to 3k cruising rev range.
I have endless videos clips which I can email to you guys for endless fun of 355s, 360s, 550s and 456s.
Jus drop me a line at [email protected] .

exhaust

I have put an MS racing exhaust on a 360. It's a Japanese made one and is very loud - almost annoying so at low revs but great once you put your foot down also a great way to move slow traffic out of your way. Here is a link to some videos of this exhaust (none are me - it's in Japanese but easy to click onto). The dealer here says it's better than Tubi but was pretty vague on HP increase but the car feels faster.

DJ - how can I post these files mate?
I've got LOADS AND LOADS - although I'll kick off with a couple - they're all in .wmv format!
Easy, if you are in the post repy page.
you have the area where you type your message
and a bit below there you will see a button that says "Add an Attachement"
click on it and an extra menu will appear that will allow you to select the file from you HD, click add attachement (3 per post) and when you'r done click Submit, and you are done
