apparently mine has failed and I have just picked myself off the floor as have been quoted £661+vat for a replacement.....! Anybody know of any alternatives or have any experience of this?

I hate to say this, but the bypass valve is necessary at the higher RPMs so that there is faster airflow out of the car. If you are going to be spending money on a exhaust fix you might consider spending the money to just upgrade to an aftermarket exhaust. It will improve your performance a bit and the sound.

Or get a Tubi. They don't have the bypass valves!!

That is a thought. How much is a tubi style exhaust? My only concern is that it will be too loud, remembering that I have a spider? What do you think?
