Hi All,
Steve, Boxer and everyone else that has helped me on this forum, thank you.

My question is this:

I have rectangular side markers on my Euro 1986 328. I have seen pictures of Euro (non US cars) that do not have these markers. So, when were these added? I have the US Dot paperwork for the port of entry into the country and it mentions nothing of the sort. Also, as Euro 328's were lighter, did a US 328 that was originally a Euro get added weight to it with side impact brace structures or anything else etc...

What exactly has to be changed on a Euro to be sold in the U.S.?

Thanks,
marc

Hi Boxer,
I would not know how to go about how to contact Dick Merrit at DOT. Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks,
Marc

Boxer,
Thanks again. I called Dick Meritt at DOT and as you said, got an answering machine. However, he was very prompt in getting back to me the very next day. I gave him my VIN and the following day he got back to me saying that back in 1986, it was HIM personally that approved the car! What are the odds? I am going to recieve all of the paperwork from him on the car shortly.

Thanks again for your help!

Marc
