My gut instinct wants to say no. The Testarossa was started in 1984 and replaced the 365. However, I will not say it for 100% as the factory is known to do strange things.
As Enzo said, to the furthest of my knowledge, no.
Model Production Years
365 GTB/4 1284 1968 - '73
365 GTS/4 122 1969 - '73

Now, if it is being claimed as a 1987 365 GTS as you say, it could mean that someone took a 365 GTB and had it converted to a spyder in 1987.
I believe it should be a 1967 365 GTS. To the best of my knowledge, this is another car than the 365 GTS/4 'Daytona Spyder'.

PS: Andrew, the between the 365 GT4BB and the Testarossa there were the 512BB and the 512 BBi.

 I was thinking and typing too fast, that's my excuse :ugh: I should know after writing a story about the end of the boxer and having a story ready for March about the beginning (the car in question).
we have a 365 GTS, and a 365 GTS/4. no way it can be 1987 for both. Niels suggestion sounds most reasonable. Type should be 1967
he probably means a 1969 365 GTS
pretty rare car, only 20 where made

wow guys, thanks!! a girl i used to know claims she has one, but also claims that it looks identical to the magnum p.i. car (which i'm sure you know it was a 1979 308 GTS, correct?)

but i've tried to find the 87 and cannot find it on any website.

THANKS!
Should be a 1987 328 GTS then. The car(s) used in Magnum PI were several different 308s (both carbed and injected) and some rumours went they have also used a 328 for close-ups. I was to young to recognize the differences back then...

Jeah, no way it can be a 365 GTS then. is there any way you can share a pic? The best guess now is indeed a 328 GTS
