If you have read the magazines then you won't be suprised at all. Yes the SL600 is faster than the 360. But take it to the track and see if the SL can better the 360. 
devastating revelation regarding my 360 spider
just bought a benz sl 600. hate to say it, folks, it's faster than the spider. no, it doesn't look or sound like it, but that twin turbo, v-12 is SICK. not sure whether to celebrate the fact or be depressed about it.

I have driven an SL55 AMG which is a more 'extreme' version of the SL series. I must say the car fells 'sterile' while the 360 Modena feels 'virile'. Now you get the picture?
