I've been looking at cars for a while now and I can't deside between a boxer and a 355 any thoughts:

Two completely different vehicles. Boxer has experience with both, and will give you great insight. Meanwhile, check out the Buyer's Guides on both cars here on FerrariLife.:)

Two very different machines. The F355 is modern and you will notice it right away compared to the Boxer. If this is your first Ferrari most would say the F355 is a better 1st but I wouldn't always agree. It will depend on your experience with other cars and taste.

Boxer Pros: more rare, classic V12 Boxer engine, a drivers car
F355 Pros: cheaper to maintain than the Boxer, easier to drive, killer exhaust note

This is great I have only owned american muscle cars and although they are great fun I'd like something that holds the road better. This will be my first Ferarri. I haven't Driven them much to appreciate the differences. Also I don't want to be overwelmed with excessive maintenance. I like to do a lot of the work myself (along with an excellent mechanic for the tough work).

Im surprised, I had always heard people touting the 355s as "driver's cars"

Maybe this is not the case?!
