Today, nice weather, no rain, a friend of mine and I set off at 6.00 am for a visit to the famous Francorchamps track were the Davide Ferrari meeting was held. About 35 Fcars were there. Among the ever present 360's were 4 CS's. A lot of Porches could be seen, everywhere you looked there was one. I think they breed in that area! Apparantely the NSX-days were held during the same weekend, red white, black or gold, you name it, we've seen it. I even spotted my first Porche Carrera GT accompanied by a Jag E type low-drag, a Jag D type and a couple of Ferrari protos. A lot of the owners turned up to give sick children the drive of their lives. It was great to see the smiles on their faces. It's good to show that owners of upperclass cars aren't just people with big wallets, but people with their hearts at the right place. I had a great day and finally met DJ Dirk, super guy!! He took me to the core of the track: right at the wall at the La Source. I could almost touch the cars when they past by me. It' s hard to imagine a bunch of F1-cars heading towards that corner, it looks big but I've seen how narrow it must have been. A 360 CS had a little get-together with a 308 GT4 right in front of me. Action on the front row. Thanks Dirk.
