Can't believe Ferrari has been beaten by C32

thanks for the link and welcome to the forum. It's nice to see someone from Singapore in here.

It's ironic that in the past two days alone, Mercedes has been one upping ferrari in the Road Car arena. First was another member being dissillussioned that his SL600 is faster than his Modena, now it's even worse when even a C32 (which costs considerably lesser) beat a modena flat out in the mid ranges. I saw the video and I'm honestly amazed how a C32 could pull so hard in the mid ranges. maybe they were just playing?

:eek:ha:
Mwoah, let's do that race again on a circuit, everybody can put a big engine in a car, but does it handle in corners?

*I deleted the topic in the general fourm, because it was the same.
you want an explanation???
ill give ya 1

since it was an rolling start the bhp doesnt count that much... you'll have to look at the torque.

now as we compare
c32====> 450 newton-meters of torque
f360====> 373.0 Newton-meters of torque

we can see a clean explanation why the c32 pulls away...

Very good point, but I think torque is not the only factor. I'm ignorant on this topic in many ways. Does torque and hp correlate? As hp goes up, torque goes up?

No it doesnt, this is the dyno-sheet from the recent tune-up of our 530D beemer. As you can see, torque and hp do not correlate with this engine. However, this does not mean this is the case with all engines. There's a difference between diesel and gasoline for one, turbo or atmospheric, etc.

As you tune a car, both go up however, if that is what you meant.
