is there a thread or resource that tells one about this particular model? i.e. best years, what to watch for, major service intervals, etc.. also, is there a recommended dealer for these cars?

Mike, welcome to the forum! Have you looked at the Mondial's Buyer's Guide?

If not, you should, it's a great source of information.

Other than that, the Mondial specialists in the forum shall give you a hand ;)

Welcome to the forum Mike! Good luck with the search for the Mondial, and as Stile said the buyers guide is a great source of information.

The only real issue I have had with my QV is a problematic fuse box. There are various fixes. The two circuits I had problems with were the Fuel Pump and turn signal fuses. The latter is next to the fuel pump fuse, which is why I think it was affected. I think the A/C and cooling fans are two other circuits that can cause problems.

Obvious one is the dreaded corrosion. Check the bottom of the B pillar for signs of it, but fenders (wings) and anywhere subjected to large amounts of water.

Cambelts every two years, though some people will say this is overkill.

I have had my 83 Cab for about 8 years and have enjoyed it allot. It is a very underrated and under priced Ferrari. Fun to drive, plenty of room, and good performance. the only drawback that I have always had is the top is hard to put up and down, so it stays down all the time.
