Calling all experts......

I've decided to get my Boxer painted black below the waist.

It needs painted down there due to stone chips anyway, and I think the black is more evocative of the period look etc, so I can't help myself and am getting it done.

Having looked around, I think the correct codes are 20.B.50 plus 20.T.380 lacquer.

Can anyone confirm?

John, have no idea about the correct Kind of Black, but happily confirm that a Black lower part on the Boxer looks fantastic! Go for it!

That's the plan. Engine and gearbox all sorted. Paint next week. Just the aircon to do and that now seems to be in hand, so I am cautiously optimistic.

Well......she is in the bodyshop now......watch this space!

(Oh,and I have hopefully also found an aircon expert who operates close to the bodyshop who will look at it while she is in there. Could be a good week.......famous last words)

My fingers are crossed for you John. I hope to see you in the Boxer in a few weeks:thumbsup:

Looking forward to seeing it - always thought of that satin black underside as the classic Boxer look. I didn't like 17977 in the all red. :)

OK. Here she is. Apologies for the poor quality iPhone photo. We Scots just can't cope when the sun shines.

Older red paint cleaned and polished. New black paint lightly cleaned. All paint waxed. Leather cleaned and fed. Brightwork polished. Rubber seals moisturised. Engine bay cleaned.

.....arms dead and back siezed:)

....and I did get the aircon recharged while it was in the shop. R437 gas and POE68 oil. Working very well too.

Transformed from lovely to spectacularly gorgeous! The "Boxer trim" makes her look even sleeker. Looking forward to seeing this lovely 512BB soon!

Excellent photo Terry. I've never seen a 308 in a Boxer paint job before.

Factory in October 1983. Boxer paint was a common option on the 308 GTB/S QV. Here is a closer look at the 308 QV. There were three or four on the factory floor, but I did not get photos of all of them when we visited.

Ed- My, what a filthy mind you have. I like it, even if we did not get photos of Boxer.
