Anyone have a battery recommendation for my car. It is a 2005 F-430 Spider with about 30,000 miles and the battery has been acting up. I need to replace it but not sure what or where to purchase. Thanks...
Interstate makes two vented models that fit the 430: 1) an AGM (absorbed glass mat) battery similar to the 430's factory Gel-cell battery, and 2) a common automotive Wet acid battery. Since the 430's battery is inside the passenger compartment, a Gel or AGM battery is safer should it crack open during an accident.
Wet acid batteries do normally offer better cranking power, though.
IIRC, the Interstate batteries are the MTP-H6A (AGM) and the MTP-H6 (Wet).
Some 360/430 owners have used Optima/Odyssey AGM batteries, but they don't fit the car's battery tray/bracket exactly. The Interstate batteries are much closer to a direct fit.
Also keep in mind, if your car has an extended Power or Power Cube warranty, ask your dealer about using a non-OE battery. I was told that Ferrari does not want a non-OE battery in the car while it's under warranty (they may deny a warranty claim).
