I know it is only winter testing  But any little bit of Formula one cars actually taking the track for a little workout makes me happy
Badoer on the pace at Catalunya
Day one of Barcelona testing [26/11/02 - 17:59]
Luca Badoer/Ferrari
Formula One teams returned to work today after a six week break, and for some it was the first day of what will be a completely new way of life.
Cristiano da Matta made his debut as a fully fledged F1 driver at the Catalunya circuit where he completed 43 laps of the Spanish track on his first day of official duty for Toyota. The Brazilian clocked a best time of 1:21.925 to finish fifth overall out of the six drivers present, over three seconds slower than the quickest man on track, Ferrari test driver Luca Badoer.
While their team bosses were busy discussing management problems in London, Antonio Pizzonia and Mark Webber donned their Jaguar overalls for the first time, Pizzonia completing 68 laps to finish second overall, less than a second off Badoer's leading pace. Unfortunately the day didn't pan out that well for Webber and the Australian was left at the bottom of the timesheets after completing just three laps.
Olivier Panis was a familiar sight, however instead of the familiar BAR overalls, the Frenchman was in red and white as his first day as a Toyota driver got underway. He was third fastest on the leaderboard followed by his former team's test driver, Anthony Davidson who finished fourth. Testing continues here tomorrow.
Tuesday's times from Barcelona:
1. Luca Badoer - Ferrari - 1.18.889 - 83 laps
2. Antonio Pizzonia - Jaguar - 1.19.797 - 68 laps
3. Olivier Panis - Toyota - 1.19.854 - 43 laps
4. Anthony Davidson - BAR - 1.21.733 - 58 laps
5. Cristiano da Matta - Toyota - 1.21.925 - 43 laps
6. Mark Webber - Jaguar - 3 laps
