So, I visited Alvan Motors today
No more Countach's
No more Zonda's

But hey

F40
328 GTS
456's
F430

Isn't that what we want?

Alvan Motors test drive 328

Hi all,

some coincidence, was at Alvan motors today as well, and took a test drive in the 328 you see in the picture

here's the results:

model is a 12/86 GTS; originally sold in France
books are present as well as maintenance records
car has also been imported in Belgium and was sold again (by Alvan) in 2002 to French buyer who now sold it again to Alvan
km indicated is 28,000

Testdrive was fine although it was raining
as expected, my leggs were touching the steering wheel ( am 1.89m), but otherwise everything seemed to go well. Probably steering wheel spacer should solve this
Now some questions:

1. I noticed water leaking in through the section between targa top and front windshield: is this due to bad rubber and can it be easily fixed ?

2. During first couple of minutes, I sometmes heard a whistling sound from the engine bay, garage told me this was normal due to the Bosch system ?? After that, it went away and didn't hear it anymore...

3. Car has French fog lights at the front, i.e. yellow, can these be replaced with standard white ones, are they easily available ?

4. There was a rubber item missing from behind the side window black cover louvres on one side, thus showing a small hole with some early rust signes; behind the other side louvre, the fuel cover did not have the leatherette protection, there was also no cover inside for the targa top; are all these items still available at decent price ?

5. Service history was a bit schetchy, although major service was done at 20.000 including belts, but back in 2001.... new major due soon ?

6. Other than that, car seemed in very good condition, asking price is 38.000 Euros, any thoughts. Experience of Alvan garage?

Frank

Fairly common for GTS models, if with a new seal if their is heavy rain it is likely to happen still.

Yes, and you can probably just replace the outer lens but don't quote me on that as I'm not 100% sure

The rubber item will be harder to find, the targa top cover will be easier

If this is the first 328 you've looked at I suggest you continue to look. Generally it is not a good idea to buy the first Ferrari you see unless you've been buying many and know when a good deal comes along. With a sketchy service history you might find yourself with repair bills you do not want.

Best of luck in your search and keep us informed of what happens.
Hey Jeroen

i see that there is still an EB110 there
and that Opel on the bridge is an Lotus Omega :green:

and you also stopped by Garage Monza ofcourse
man that white 275 GTS is SUWEET

oh, another funny thing
that other EB110 on the bridge
last time i was there was about 2 years ago or something, and then that same one was also standing on that bridge in similar condition
There was so many dust on the EB110

VIN Nr of the F430: ZFFEZ58B000140402
Hi all,

can anyone tell me the s/n of the 328 GTS?

Regards

Erik
Oops, too fast...I found it already.

 Had it in my register with 478AER83 instead of 478AER34.
