Hi All

I unfortunately may have to return to the UK shortly and sadly that means having to part with my much loved 360.
I am considering shipping it to Europe and selling it there as it is a Euro spec LHD car. Can anyone give me any advice on the best way to go about this ? current market prices that I should expect in the various regions and any tips or things to look out for ?
My car is a 2004 360 Modena manual transmission, Nero Daytona, Full Bordeaux interior, Red brake calipers, Electrically operated seats, Front & rear Challenge grills. The car has a full Ferrari history, timing belts just done. 13500 KMs. This car is in exellent condition and am very unhappy at the possibility of having to part with her.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Matt:(

Matt,

Sorry to hear you have to part with it so soon after getting it. With shipping cost it might be better to try and sell it there first.

A friend drove his car (997 4s) from dubai to germany. Great adventure but don't think the roads fit the 360. But you're a hero if you try anyway.

Matt,
Have you considered driving a LHD car in the UK? It's not ideal, but at least you get to keep her.
Alternatively, you might find that if you PX her against a RHD car in the UK you'll get a very good price for her.

Back to the UK ????

I am considering shipping my 360 back to the UK, I'm keeping my options open as the idea of parting with my car is a little painful.
So I have a few questions......
Can anyone give me some advice on the best insurance company to deal with for this type of car, it will be a weekend car mostly and will not get a lot of miles on it, a rough idea of cost per year too please.
I will also need somewhere to keep the car, can anyone suggest a storage facility that deals with F cars etc at a reasonable price per month, I'm based in Chiswick.
Has anyone had experience bringing their car into the UK as a change of residence, anything to look out for ?

Any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks
Matt

P.S the car is Euro spec LHD

Matt, I have been using AON Private Clients for my Ferrari insurance, it costs approx £400 PA for a 3000 mile PA Fully Comprehensive policy. If you go to www.ferrariownersclub.co.uk and click on the links there are several other insurance co's who specialise in Ferrari's and other exotics/classics.
Don't bother with yellow pages or internet searches, you'll find that most company's who claim to deal with high performance cars are aimed at Subaru drivers and they don't understand the needs of Ferrari owners. They'll charge you a fortune too, my quotes ranged from £3000 (Yellow pages) to £400 from AON who are recommended by the FOC.
Sorry, I can't help with storage in London, but as a guide most specialist storage co's outside of London charge £30 - £40 Per week, so maybe £50 PW in London. If you PM t1fosI he might be able to recommend somewhere?
Good luck with shipping your baby.
