Awesome!! Heat shields?
Hi Dave,

on the headers manifold i not install heat shields, as my experience on the 575, with that manifolds the temperatures are low in respect to the original system tha thave the two pre-cats.
On both 575 and 599 the original heat shieds are over the manifold can be remain in place, as per following picture.
I make head shield on the CAT.

Cool. I don't know anything about 575's or 599's except the interiors :)

Dave- The 575M, the 612, and the 599 all have precats in the headers, 4 in total, inside the four 3-1 exhaust manifolds. Ferrari was able to eliminate the precats in the 599 GTO with improved catalyst technology and went to two 6-1 headers feeding into two large catalysts. Fabio's V12 headers are similar to what the 599 GTO has, and they result in a much superior sound and a very useful increase in hp with no effect on the emissions system.

Cool - when I get a 599 (They are calling me bad), I'll get a hold of Fabio for a set of these beauties ;)

Excellent work

Are you going to make these to order? If yes, when will you begin construction and what do think will be the approximate cost?

Many thanks

Hi Greg,

thanks for your request and for the compliments.

Yes i make these for sell, at the moment i'm doing two complete exhaust system for the 599 as following:

- 6-1 headers, including CAT's
- CAT bypass pipes
- Back mufflers with valves

Most parts are ready, like the two sets of headers, I miss only the bended pipes, the bending company assured me the delivery for next week (I ordered pipes for 10 cars) , with those pipes in one week i will complete all things, after that I have one workshop that will test the first set in a 599, perhaps at the end of february.
I expect at least 40 HP more....
After the test i will able to sell the remain set and to make other.
About prices i'm on the estimation, shortly I can show.

Kindly

Fabio

Hello,
this morning i completed the heat shield on the CAT's, i did it by means of my usual 2 mm thick ceramic fibre and for the external protection i used 0.15 mm AISI 304 embossed instead of the embossed alluminium that i used for the 550-575.
Differences?
Not more, the alluminium is a little bit difficult to install due to the rivets, the 304 can be connect (weld) to the CAT by means of point welder (home made by my brother Claudio).
Is not an invention, other brands use this system, but i had not experience in this system and i had to make experienced by myself...

Best

Fabio

Fabio- Those should do the trick. Welding SS has to be a lot easier than fiddling with riveted aluminum or DC welding.

Terry,
yes, thanks to my brother Claudio that did for me a dedicated point welder for this work, and after a little bit of practice, now is a little bit easier than use the alluminium fixed by rivets, but is necessary do much attention becasue the 0.15 mm SS cutted by means of scissors is like a cutter .... after shields installation on my hands there was some wounds....
