Even though it was specially built by an independent company,
Is it still guaranteed by Ferrari SPA of Maranello, Italy?

Well, it is by far the best of the 456 Cabriolets that I've known of. The car looks VERY sharp, and with top and windows down, it looks amazing! Put the top up and the magic is gone, but well...

But for US$ 130K can you buy something better?

What are the prices for a F355 Spider? And for a normal 1995 456 GT?

This is the first I've seen of a 456 Spyder. It looks better than hardtop. Imagine a 4-seater cabrio with 0-60mph in 5.3 sec. capability!
And not that I can afford it, but 130K is a great price for this beauty.:)

If you google the Sultan of Brunei for his 456 specials, you'll see RHD Spiders as well as a couple four-door 456's and a few 456 Station Wagons: Special order of course

Boxer, probably, but then the car would cost more than the Enzo

not the best value for money, I guess

If you are looking for value for money, then Honda makes fine cars.

If Ferrari announced that they were producing 500 carbonfiber 2+2 Spiders at Euro 600k they would all be pre-sold in a month.

Bumping an old thread but I am really interested in these. I understand the chassis are weakened but this is really like a modern Daytona spyder. I think they are more beautiful than the coupe counterparts for sure. Anybody else think they look better than the coupes?

Such classic lines:

I generally think that the 456 is appealing. The convertible even more so.
It appears that this car has a box construction on the rear for stiffness but I could not determine if the sills have bee reinforced.
Pretty car all the same.

I agree I like the coupe better but wouldn't kick the spider out of bed
