My 456 GT will suddenly now not start. The car has an immobilizer which appears to be working properly. However when you turn the key to start the car, it fires up and then dies after about 3-4 seconds, it sounds like the engine is not catching and/or getting fuel. Additionally this morning a clicking noise suddenly appeared and seemed to be coming from behind the tachometer, (whihc may or may not be related). Up till now it was running beautifully. I did check the fuses for the fuel pumps and both are fine. Any suggestions as to what the problem could be ?
Thanks.

The clicking does sound like a relay tripping in & out, but I've no idea what it may be.

It wouldn't give the "dying after start" symptoms, but I have heard of many immobilisers draining the battery after a time. A low voltage could also lead to relays not holding properly, but once the car fires the alternator should then make up any voltage deficiency if that was the problem. Hmmm (thinks).

ps: You did say CLICKING didn't you (not TICKING! => run away! run away! :green: )
