Hello Shiv,

Thank you for your reply. I'd would still like to know if you or anyone else knows what the "Q-Cintara" interior designated or if this term is incorrect.

Shiv, can you please identify the 7 switches in the photo below? I'm assuming 1 to 4 are for the cabin lights and 5 to 7 are for the Homelink system, but please confirm. Also, what is the function of the two green lights?

Thank you,
Gianni
Gianni,

Sorry missed your earlier post, I hope you have resolved the issues with the switches by now.

Cheers,
Shiv

Welcome to Ferrari Life. Beautiful 456. CdF looks different depending on lighting conditions, so is a very attractive, and rare, color. By the time the 575M came around, CdF was an extra cost option (out of range color).

Jojo,
That is a beautiful car!! CdF, beige, and a six speed - that's the triple crown of 456s. And there can't be but a few of them.
Congrats and enjoy!

612s for Sale

The "For Sale" section is outdated, so I'd like to know if there are any 612 owners that need to part with their baby?

I already own a 330, but I want something I can drive more often. I promise the 612 will be loved!

1995 456 GT with radio in dash?

Hello All,

I've located a 1995 456 GT for sale and the photos show the car in very good condition and original, but with one exception. The radio is located on the dashboard in front of the passenger seat (see photos below) and the radio bay on the center console is empty.

Although the radio on the dash looks to be professionally installed, it looks strange, especially with the normal radio bay empty. Can anyone offer their opinion if this was a Ferrari option of some type or is it more likely to be an after market radio installation?

I will look at the car in person very soon, but since it's not local, I have to plan for the travel.

Regards,
Gianni

Not an option from Ferrari. Owner just did not want a 1 DIN head unit. Would likely require recovering the dash, ~$3-5K if you dislike it enough. Or make a leather covered plug for the hole.

There'd be more than just recovering the dash.
In relocating the radio, they removed the airbag!

That's what I was afraid of...I didn't see the airbag and thought maybe it was not included until the following year...yikes!

Color Code: Blu Midnight 136634

I'm looking at a 1999 456M GT (July 1998) Assembly No. 30266 with the color code: Blu Midnight 136634. I'm trying to get a sense of how popular (or rare) this colour was ordered in general for any Ferrari and specifically for the 456M GT.

I have seen this colour in photos and YouTube videos, but I did not see it listed in the article below:

Ferrari Paint Codes - Ferrari Life

Is there are more complete reference source for Ferrari colour codes? Or can anyone offer an opinion on how common (or rare) this colour was generally ordered for any Ferrari and specifically for the 456M GT?

Thank you,
Gianni

Gianni- It was not a standard Ferrari paint color for 1999, so was about a $2000 option for a non-standard color with PPG or other known paint code that was easy to mix. Paint to sample was about twice that. The other similar paint jobs you saw were likely Blu Pozzi, another very dark blue paint.

Terry,

Thank you for your informative reply. This dark blue colour has a purple hue to it much like Blu Pozzi so I'm wondering why pay extra for a similar colour other than to be unique. It also has a diamond stitch backshelf which I had not seen in a 456M GT before.

This car was the daily driver for the owner of a Ferrari dealership, so it doesn't surprise me that it has unique options.

Regards,
Gianni

Just checked several 1995 456 GTs and none had steering wheel or passenger-side das airbags. But that still does not explain why someone would put a radio in the dash. I will see this car today and will ask the dealer, but doubt he'll know.

Gianni
