I am looking 4 a 4 door ferrari to be used as a wedding car. I have had a very deep appreciation 4 ferraris since I was 11 yrs old. The only way I am going to afford to have one is to use it as a business. I currently work as a school chaplain 4 days a week so my income is very low, but by starting this business I will be able to top up my income & own a ferrari. I I was a mechanic for 15 years so I think I'll be able to do most of the maintenance myself. So can somebody advise me about suitable models & what I can expect to pay & any other advise, Thanx.

with all due respect I hope you don't find what you are looking for. Ferrari never built a 4 door car. Cutting up and extending an existing coupe is vulgar and not what Ferrari ownership is about. In fact as someone once said, you don't actually own a Ferrari, you merely look after it for the next generation!

My sentiments exactly, first a Chevy engine, now a 4 door Ferrari, what is going on today?

Well if we want to be anal we can talk about a few of the prototype 4 doors Pininfarina made, but if you are strapped for money, I don't think these 7 figure Ferraris are in your budget.

You can get a 4 seater, 2 door (2+2). In that case you would be looking for a Mondial or 412. Perhaps you had a typo and this is what you are looking for? If so clarify and we can help give you more info on these two models.

Actually Ferrari has build 4 door cars, in the 90's a sedan & a break for the Sultan based on the 456
of both models there are about 3 to 5 made, and only 2 of the breaks have escaped. but both are RHD, one is still in england and comes to shows now and then.

but then the more interesting car.
build in 1980 as a casestudy by Pininfarine, and named Pinin.
2 where made, and the project was scrapped, it only stayed a study, 1 was destroyed and the other was rusting away till Jacques Swaters rescued the car. it is now standing in his private collection and seldom comes out to play, i've only seen the car twice.
in 1992 & 1993

thanx to those who kindly offered their knowledge, I have seen a 4 door at a "concours de elegance" in 1985 at the sydney harbour overseas terminal. hopefully it wasn't a chop job. and to the ones that obviously take an excessive amount of pride in their superior knowledge I suggest you check to see where you get your self worth from! thanx again to those who humbly offered their knowledge & I hope you all have a great new year, GOD bless. :)

all crazyness aside, the Pinin was a cool concept and i do love the 456 Venice wagon, i defenitly preffer it over the estate
I am with you on everything except the Venice Wagon  It leaves me with a Volvo'ish impression. The Pinin was a great concept. :D
i happen to like station wagon, i usually preffer them over a sedan.
so since i love a 456, it is only normal that i preffer the Venice Wagon then
could you imagine going shopping or snowboarding with that car, that one has enough trunk space to fit the snowboard and your suitcase :D

vincenzo,

I'm unaware of any 4-door models, but do know of a wedding-car company in Melb that tried a Mondial for a while (in fact I almost bought it from them). According to them they found it too tight in the back for the purpose - just picture it ... you've got a bride in a HUGE dress and her father.

I've got a Mondi & it's great for kids or adults + kids but anyone over about 16 is going to find it tight in the rear. On the passenger side you can get more knee/legroom by moving the front seat forward, but unless the driver is short you can't do much on the driver's side. Most kids sit cross-legged in the rear on that side.

I think you should look at the 400-412 series. At least you get decent rear room in those and they are cheap enough nowadays (say AUD$40K - 80K). Downsides include a V12 engine (expensive to service), most are dark colours & not red (can be important for "events" cars), and getting a bit old (unreliable?). There actually was a custom-convertible 400 series going in Melb at the end of last year.

A 456 would be very swish but exe ... say $170K+ at the moment.

If you DO find more about a 4-door let us know - it may have been a special or custom-job.

I'm getting married in May and I'd like to have the same thing but no go on the 4 door Ferrai's

There is a couple of companies that have made fiberglass "Testarossa" replica limos that I have seen, but this is probalby nothing more than a really long stretch on a Fiero. In fact, I think there is a picture of one in this months Dupont Registry.

Do what I did......went with a big, fat, yellow H2 limo.
