Every day somewhere in the world, the Smart eMT ECU is installed on a supercar to replace the robotized gearbox pump relay and will greatly improve reliability and performance.

For Ferrari F1, Maserati CC/Duoselect/MC Shift, Lamborghini E-Gear/ISR, Audi R8 R-Tronic, Aston Martin ASM Sportshift

The Smart eMT F1 ECU is also installed on many race cars and not only Ferrari. Here's example of perfect installations made by BS Auto Classic - Benoit Simonnot in France on several Trofeos like this Maserati 4200 Trofeo and Maserati GranSport Trofeo.

Two Maserati Trofeos equipped with the Smart eMT ECU for greater reliability and performance of the transmission, were running last weekend on the Paul Richard race track in France. With the brilliant technical assistance of Benoit Simonnot - BS Auto Classic, the eMT ECU on one Trofeo diagnosed immediately an important issue on the hydraulic system causing the pump to cycle every 5 seconds! Fortunately, this issue was caught in time.

The other Trofeo ran all the time without any issue detected, all green. Another Trofeo will also be equipped soon with the eMT ECU.

Since there have been more and more cases where workshops asked me to diagnose hydraulic pressure issues, I wanted to share something that becomes quite common these days with Power Units getting aged. Often ignored is the 50μm filter high pressure filter which is located inside the Power Unit and gets clogged with time with metal shavings (E-DIFF and/or pump head shavings). This will cause pressure reduction and make the hydraulic pump run much longer than required. The Smart eMT Relay ECU will report a warning in this case (code 1 and/or 7).

To access this filter, the pump motor+head must be removed as well as the high pressure pipe between the pump and Power Unit. The filter is located right behind the 22mm nut on a spring. Part number is #213111 and is identical for all Ferrari, Lamborghini or Maserati. Of course, before removing anything, system pressure must be entirely removed using the depressurizing nut (8mm hex)!!

Most of the hydraulic accumulators are aged and will need replacement. In this video, we explain how to check if your accumulator is still efficient enough to hold correctly the hydraulic pressure.
To protect your hydraulic system, we highly recommend to replace the OEM pump relay with our Smart eMT ECU. This has saved already many cars from serious issues.
For Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini, Aston Martin and Audi R8

This is again another example of a hydraulic pump relay where the terminals literally got fused in the relay base. Whatever the relay is, it's simply not appropriate to handle the huge inrush current of the pump motor each time the pump needs to start.

Since more than 5 years, many Ferrari/Maserati/Lamborghini/Aston Martin/Audi R8 owners and workshops replaced the OEM pump relay with our Smart eMT ECU. As a result, no more burned terminals, a prolonged pump motor lifetime and a pump + entire hydraulic system running in a much healthier way.
