355 Competititon Grill Question ?

1234 Views 5 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  Dr. Bob
I'm new to this forum. I just purchased a 1998 F355 Spider that has the competition grill in the back. I'm not sure if I'm going to keep the grill or replace it with a solid painted piece. Can anyone provide me feedback on the pros or cons of the competition grill? Thanks.

The grill is an option item. The previous owner must have paid good money for it. It is good, trust me. I ordered the "challenge grill" for my F355 and I found that the engine bay was much cooler especially for long runs. People pay to get that grill and you have it on the car. Keep it. It's better than the "solid" panel.
Hi welcome,

It's beter for your car, so it's better to keep it...
...but a painted one looks better...
:-? ...keep it, it will save your engine I believe.

btw do you have some pics of your car, we like pics...
Pro: Looks better with grill.
Con: Looks are subjective!
I say keep it because how many 355's do you see with it? Plus it cools the engine, so it's a win-win situation. 8)
I would have to agree with the above posters...keep it on. It adds a special touch to an already beautiful automobile. :green:
The only real advantage you have is that it cools the engine. Because looks are personal I can't help you with that, but if you are in a hot area, or you are pushing the car for a long time, I think it is better to have one.
