After about 45 minutes or so of driving in hot days. My 1978308gtb starts to sputter and pop like running out of gas. I am thinking vapor lock. Car has new fuel pump, filter, fusebox, ignition coils, distributor rebuilt, plugs, wires etc.I am convinced it is vapor lock but why dont other cars do it. All emission equipment is on car and fuctional. Any ideals? water temp is 195 oil is 210 steady.

Mine doesn't do it. Sounds like you have covered all your bases. I am thinking it is not vapor lock. The fuel delivery system is under pressure, not vacuum. I don't think your gas is boiling. Although you could double check and make sure your fuel lines are not running next to something hot. I'm thinking more along the lines of something with the primary ignition system. You may have an electrical connection that is marginal, something that is fine when cold, but when hot has enough increased resistance to cause a problem. You said you rebuilt the distributors, so I am sure you have new points/condensers. I think you will find it is a bad wire or connection somewhere.

That's another good point. Do you see any burned blk. areas on the board? Are any of the terminals loose and extremely hot? Also check the terminal that supplies the fuel pump. It is known to get hotter than the other terminals normally but there is also the chance it has gotten bad over the years.

If the panel is warped badly it sounds like heat wae extensive there at some time. I would be suspicious of that area and check all the terminals to see if they are loose or not and maybe are not making contact at times.
