I'm planning on either building my own, or having a custom exhaust built for my '80 GTSi and had a few questions before starting. My plan is to use (2) separate 4" diameter MagnaFlow mufflers (good enough for Mario, good enough for me!), my question id does the 308 exhaust system need a crossover, X, H, etc, pipe to equalize the back pressure? I've read of people using (2) seperate mufflers but don't know exactly how they've done it, so if any one has any ideas or suggestions help would be appreciated. Thanks

My 308 QV has a custom built exhaust and there is a crossover between the seperate sides and it sounds pretty good..[/img]
That is a pretty sweet exhaust! Who built it and how much did you have to shell out? Does the lower shield still fit on the car?

It was installed on the car before I bought it. The receipt was from 1991 I think and it cost 700. It was built with two cats originally and one of them failed. I liked the way it sounded and decided to stick with a direct replacement. I just removed it and welded in two new ones. A quick wire wheel and repaint and I was good to go.
There is no sheild because this car is a euro. A couple more photos:
