Hi, anyone here have aftermarket wheels on their 308? Any clearence issues with 15" or 16"? I was thinking maybe 16" -10" wide for rear and 8" wide for front? Any idea where to find them? I went to several websites but it seem they are no longer making wheels that would fit a 1979 GTS with prope offset. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Richard

Re: Wheels and Tires

Hi Richard:

I have 16 inch 3-piece Speedline wheels with Dunlop SP Sport 8000 tires on my 1983 GTBi QV Euro.

The front tires (around 8 1/2 inches wide) are P205/55/ZR16, and the rear tires (around 10 inches wide) are P225/50/ZR16.

If I turn the steering wheel completely to one side as far as it will go, the tires will rub. It only rubs on the extreme end of turning the steering wheel (which almost never is needed). I might turn the wheel that much once a year for some odd reason.

At high speeds, driving around the block or just parking, I never need to turn the wheel that much.

possible Email info ---> [email protected]

UK website ----> http://www.speedlinecorse.co.uk/

Here are a couple of pic's to show that they look normal, and nothing outrageous.

Wheels for sale

Hmmm, 16" what are the widths? Do the tires come with them:crowngrin:
Also what part of the country are you in? (for shipping).

I am running 225-50-16 on the rears and I believe the wheel with is either 8 or 9". The fronts are 205-55-16 and I think they are 7 or 7 1/2 " wheels. They offsets fit a 308 and the front hubs use an insert to make them hubcentric. The rear tires have less then 500 miles on them and they are a Japanese brand. The fronts are Pirelli P7's and look to be in great shape although old. They are all balanced and run great. Each wheel weighs about 45# and based on a discussion with a UPS store the cost to ship from NY (me) to Fla is about $50 each. Wheels are in very good condition . I use the OEM wheel bolts and they fit fine. Center caps come with the wheels. $700 and buyer pays shipping.

The wheels are in very good condition with maybe a scrape here and there . This is a factory paint job (gold) and I assume that it can be removed without refinishing the whole wheel. I have seen another set in natural finish.
