Ferrari Dino GT on HRE Vintage Series 505

Here is something you just don't see everyday, well unless you have one parked in your garage. Feast your eyes on this rare Ferrari Dino GT we recently just wrapped up. Nothing beats matching vintage cars with period correct styling wheels and tires, that's why the only way to go was with a set of HRE Vintage Series 505's. The HRE Vintage Series add that modern strength and lightweight forged wheel that just doesn't compare to any others on the market. Let us know what you think fellas!

I think your wheels look fabulous and I think it raises a couple of talking points.

How far advanced was that design 45 years ago! And those wheels make it look as if it was just driven out of a showroom. I can see someone driving this contemporary daily driver during the week and swapping back to original rims on the weekend for a classic car show.

I wonder if the low profile tyres would improve handling?

Will Ferrari ever release a 50, 75 or even 100 year Anniversary remake of this small and nimble classic?

I hope I never see a hot rodded Ferrari but I think a wheel change here and there is pretty harmless. I'm sure some purists would not agree.

David.

Absolute and utter sacrilege in my opinion.

Of all the narcissists I know, I love me the most.

Corey- Sorry to say, but that is a miss to me. Plus, that suspension and brake set-up was not really designed for that kind of rubber and wheels.

To each his own.... I think it looks great! The only thing that may look better would be an updated Campy design with that same profile.

Current: 85' GTS QV
It's a simple process...... it's just complicated by human beings....

Until now, I thought it was impossible to screw up the looks of a Dino.

High mileage, low compression, and missing on a few cylinders.....just like my cars.

Way too big...def not the car for that design, hard to beat the original: otherwise they would have had them
Pininfarina wasn't one of the greatest designer for nothing!

Despite what you guys say I still can't convince myself that these wheels look crap. Probably because that Dino design still looks contemporary. If Ferrari remade exactly the same body shape Dino, with modern mechanicals, how many of us would flock to buy one, even with low profiles?

I think Taz sums it up by saying that the Dino just isn't set up to take those wheels.

We all agree that period specificity rules. Bear in mind, however, that Pininfarina didn't have the same wheel/tyre technology 45 years ago. If they did it would probably would be looking similar to the above photos.

Last time I looked my 16M has both low profile tyres and Pininfarina badges.

David.
