A beautiful sunrise at Katie's, this morning.

At Katie's today, a guy we know - ZR-1 driver Phil, collapsed inside Katie's. The Great Falls Emergency Squad (luckily, right across the street) came right over. Seems like a heart incident. He was conscious and coherent when he left - a good sign - and they took him to a local hospital. Two good things accompanied this frightening event -

1.) Fellow Corvette guys talked to Phil before he left, and volunteered to get his car home and safe. I know that took one of his worries away.

2.) I was VERY happy to see that no one was parked along the sides of the entrance road to Katie's from Georgetown Pike. People had been parking their cars on both sides of this road in recent weeks, and it makes it difficult to get traffic in & out. Thankfully, the ambulance and fire truck had a clear shot in to pick up Phil, and get him to the hospital.

It wasn't all sunrises and emergency calls this morning; there was a good collection of Ferraris there today, too.

Katie's update: Phil, who was taken away from Katie's in an ambulance on Saturday, is home and OK. He did yard work all day Friday, without drinking enough water.
His problem was being dehydrated, and he's taking care of that. He said he'd be back at Katie's soon.

A great turnout today. I just wish people had the sense to NOT park along Georgetown Pike, and along the entry road, next to the Post Office. A suggestion - if you can't get to Katie's before 7:00AM, don't bother coming until 8:30 or 9:00AM. You will likely find a decent parking space, for the 'second shift'. I am pretty much always gone before 8:30AM.

What a great day at Katie's! It was '550 day', but that didn't prevent us from welcoming an old friend with his F40!

A beautiful Saturday morning at Katie's. Well attended, but not as crowded, as early, as I expected it to be.

It's July in Northern Virginia. That means humidity, and lots of activity at Katie's. The Ferraris were out...

Bob Morris had a beautiful wood sculpture of a car he is having restored up at Wayne Carini's a Godsal. (One-of-one.)

My laptop has been repaired, so... back to posting!
In addition to the Ferraris this week - an old Lotus Elan, and a rare (never imported to the US) Lotus Omega -
a quick 4-door, in the spirit of the Lotus Cortina.

Several Ferraris at Katie's on 07/20/19. As a bonus - 3 French cars!

Beware!

I almost forgot - the police around Katie's have been getting complaints. Engine revving, burnouts, speeding - all this juvenile behavior brings consequences. (Ask any of us who 'lost' the Kohl's cars & coffee event.) Also, parking along Georgetown Pike, and along the sides of the entry road between the post office and bank make for too much local congestion.

I do not know what got the guy in the McLaren pulled over, but a word to the wise - behave, or get ticketed.
We do NOT want to lose this venue!

There was a car accident (possibly several) on 193 near Katie's this morning. I hope everyone is OK.

We had a very early crowd, but the lot filled in a bit slower, since many, many people had to take alternate routes to avoid the enormous backup on Georgetown Pike.

Foggy and humid this morning, but we still had a lot of cars show up. Where were all the Ferraris? I only saw one Mondial today!
