Help me buy my Ferrari

It's my turn finally. Would like the forums help in selecting my model. I've looked at a few 360 spiders, one of which in NY is asking 59 w 24k, I'm concerned about the low price. Looming to spend no more than 80k, definitely want a v8...

Any help appreciated

pretty simple really. do it like any other car. Narrow down exactly what you want, find it, negotiate a price, then have a thorough PPI done by an independent, trusted mechanic. I would also visit all the local places to find one like competizione and ferrari of washington. What to look for in your price range is pretty easy, basically from a 308 to maybe a 360. Don't think you will find a 430 that is acceptable in that range, nor anything before 308. if I had that money i would prob be looking at a sorted 355 or 360. pretty sure luke said there where a lot of 355 out there right now. i would def give richard at competizione a call and pick his brain.

Thanks Ed, I'll check out f of w. I'd prefer a 360 not a huge fan of a 308 I'll keep you posted as well as post pics :-)

have you read the buyers guide

Brian:
As painful as it is- look around, drive and see. There are many examples out there. The better educated you are the better car you will get and the better deal as well.

I looked for two years and had several ppis done. In fact my budget grew to a 430. While I wished I had bought sooner, the best advice was from the tech who told me that the car I had looked at was riddled with deferred maintenance and problems.

As I posted on another thread looking at the service records of my Mondial t Cab, those numbers really pile up quick. A whole bunch of nothing amounts to 5-10K pretty quickly. And then the 59K Mondena doesn't look as good and the 78K Modena looks a bit better. PPI is important but it does not disclose all.

I love reading those guides- they make me want to bu a modena. Read Barristers guide. It is awesome. And complete.
Remember you buy the car from the person more than the car.
