A New Addition to the Family….

After a few weeks of negotiating and waiting on parts, lastThursday (5/30/13) we finally welcomed a new member to our family. It’s a 1986 Rossa Corsa Ferrari Mondial 3.2 cabrioletwith Black interior. This was the onethat was at Ferrari of Washington. Jonathan Branco first told me about the car back in April during the FCA’s50th Anniversary 599 Welcome Party. With the help of several FCA members (Joe and Kathie F. and Curtis C. toname a few) they convinced my wife that Ferrari ownership was not a bad thing.

I had the Mondial inspected by Richard at Competizione (itwas spotted there the day I had it inspected). I really appreciated the time he took out of his busy day to discussthis car with me and what his thoughts were on the car. He said that mechanically it was a greatcar. There were some things that neededto be addressed right away and Jonathan at FoW took care of them with noproblem. The rest of it is mostly cosmetic and will be taken care of in time.
Jonathan and Mary at FoW were wonderful to work with! I can’t say enough about them. They stayed after hours waiting for my familyand me to get through Northern Virginia afternoon rush hour to pick up thecar. I felt so sorry for making themwait, but they assured me that it was fine. They made my family and I feel so welcome and comfortable throughout thewhole process. One last thing aboutJonathan…I don’t know if it’s because of our friendship or if he does this withall of his clients, but he called me the next day to make sure things were ok(the drive home, if I had any questions with the car) he wanted to know if I was going to Katie’sCars and Coffee and if I was, he would meet me up there. Unfortunately, I had family visiting so Icouldn’t make it up there, but I really appreciated all the attention I gotfrom him. If you’re thinking about doingbusiness with FoW, I would highly recommend you see Jonathan Branco.

The ride home was a great time for my 10 year old andme. I’m not sure if it was because wewere finally in our very own Ferrari or if it was because of that wonderfulsound coming from the back (probably a little of both) but we both rode homewith smiles on our faces from ear to ear.

Well enough talking. Here are some photos I took after today’s Cars and Coffee in Fairlakes,VA.

New Addition

Bill,
Great new addition! And room for the whole family, too. Enjoy the top down while cruising. Looking forward to seeing it in person. Enjoy!!!!

Fantastic! Congrats.

Any thoughts on driving up to the big Mondial gathering in Hershey at the end of this month?

Congrats Bill, I'm happy for you (your son looks very pleased as well)!

Any thoughts of bringing the car to Annapolis City Dock Cars and Coffee (maybe meetup w/MondialChris?) You would be the 3rd Mondial at C&C. We gather from 9am - noon on Sundays. Time to exercise that stallion!

Hey Chris, YES I thought about it. Unfortunately I have family arriving on the 29th. I had thought about going by myself, but my Son would kill me if he knew I was going to Hershey and he wasn't. I haven't ruled it out completely, but I'm 80% sure that I will NOT be going.

Al, I DO plan on bringing it out there. But first I had to represent my local C&C (Fairlakes). We have (2) other Mondials at our event and I'm now the 3rd. But I definitely plan on bringing it out there either this Sunday or next.

Thanks Andrew! Funny you should mention that...that very topic was brought up this weekend. But he's a very responsible boy and I don't think that would be a problem (when the time comes).

Thanks everyone for the well wishes!! I really do appreciate it and I'm looking forward to participating in more events and asking a lot more questions instead of just lurking around.

Thanks Terry,

Sadly that option (having Christie Brinkley come with the car) was not an option.

Barchetta will buy you coffee this Sunday (or next Sunday) in Annapolis!

It'd be nice to see all three Mondials parked together.

What a way to pimp out Jim there!

I agree it would be nice to get them together. It's looking more and more like I will be there on Sunday 6/16. But if anything changes, I'll let you guys know!
