I was at the VA cars & coffee this beautiful morning and there was a great turnout of about a 100 cars. Standouts were the F40, GT40, Ariel Atom, 911 Speedster, 599GTB, Diablo SV, Tesla Model S, and few other ferraris and porsche's. I saw the 458 leave 30 minutes before me and as my friend and I got onto 495N we hit a lot of traffic. Roughly 2 miles up the road we passed by the crash scene and it wasn't pretty. Three lanes were shut down and I was able to snap a quick picture with my phone of the car and I believe the driver standing next to it. (I've attached the picture and hope everyone can see it.) The left side of the car took majority of the damage. There is about a 200 ft divider strip on the edge of the left lane which the driver seems to have hit head-on to cause the flip. I'm not sure what caused him to leave the left lane into the divider. My guess is as good as yours.
Patrick please let me know if you would like me to email the higher resolution photo to you.
if it was fatal, you would have known it when you drove by. there would have been hours of accident reconstruction going on. i checked the cameras around 10:30 and it was clear. but hey, just speculation.
