FCA Lifts and Lunch Event Tomorrow?

Anyone going to this?

It's definitely one of my favorite events of recent years....always a great time.

I will try to make the early GF gathering and then head over to this.

I no-can-do this year. Going to a friend's wedding instead.

If others go, please post pics of both the cars and the folks that went.

Hey Guys...here are some pics and little write up I did for the event. Hope you enjoy!

Wow! What a great day we had on Saturday. The weather was just perfect and the turn out was even better!! I believe that was the largest turnout in the 3 years we've been having this event. There were about 30 Ferrari's in attendance. From modern cars (Superamerica, 612, 575, 550, 456, 430's, & 360's), Classic's (355's, 348, 328, 308's) and even Vintage (246 Dino's, 330 GT, 250 GT/L Lusso) Ferrari's. There was also another Italian make present an Intermeccanica Italia, then there were the English with Aston Martin, Bentley, Rolls-Royce and Jaguar. The German's were there with a 2007 Porsche GT3RS aka "The Turtle" and there was a strong Shelby contingent present. There was even a Willys-Overland WWII Jeep!

But back to the lifting and wrenching...several people took advantage of the lifts to do oil changes and make other small modifications. All in all it was a GREAT day.

Wow, great looking event! I take it that is one of the 4 original Shelby Cobra Daytona coupes? I have a video of one racing at Spa (friend was driving his Cobra in the same race, view is from his cockpit following the Daytona), I'll have to find it and upload to YouTube. Great car.

Not sure if that was a real one or not.
Maybe a replica by Superperformance?

According to wikipedia, there were 6 real ones made:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shelby_Daytona

There are also the CSX9000 series cars that are official reproductions (or "continuation series" cars). But those cars don't have the "Daytona" script logo emblems on the sides of the front fenders.

I've only seen one of the real ones in my lifetime.
It happens to reside in Maryland.
Here is a pic I took of it.

Also, now that I look closely at the two cars in the pictures posted in this thread, I notice a few differences.
For example, the real one's windows open by sliding forward (opening only half of the window space) where as the one that went to the event had fully sliding windows.
Another slight difference is the shape of the outside mirror on the driver's door.
Interesting stuff. That certainly is a great looking car that went to the event, even if it might be a replica or continuation series car.

The 427 CSX4000 does have a blown head gasket now...oops, but it was a fun ride until then! Thanks to the owner for taking me out in it.

The Coupe at the FCA event was a Factory Five replica.

Toggie, the pic of the Coupe you show is also a replica...Superformance.

They indeed only made 6 original cars...the last one sold did $11.6 mil last year at auction.

Great to see everyone Sat!

Sorry, $11.6m was the pre auction estimate...the actual sale was for $7.25m.

That was for 2601, 2299 would prob bring more.

The Intermeccanica Italia looks interesting. Is that the one Chuck Wray was restoring a few years back? Anymore pics of it?

Current: 85' GTS QV
It's a simple process...... it's just complicated by human beings....

Jim,

I don't know if this is the car Chuck restored. I do have some shots I took of the car at the Cars and Coffee earlier that morning. I thought I had an engine shot, but I can't seem to find it. Sorry.
