Great guy. R.I.P.
News articles say he was 70 and had been battling cancer.

Good journalist - I liked him too, although we tend to watch Balto stations. He was very good and well-liked. He and Abe Pollin are yucking it up now in the upperdeck bar.

I thought the same, given the lethal lifestyle he lives. RIP

WOW.... I thought that he had been looking kinda ill for a while now. A sports journalism legend... in the same ilk as Glenn Brenner. truly sad.

Current: 85' GTS QV
It's a simple process...... it's just complicated by human beings....

In 2002 Pollin and Czaban did a tribute to Brenner on their show ten years after his death. George Michael called in and said that when the media was in Pasadena for Super Bowl XVII there was a gathering at the hotel bar one night and a huge tab was rung up. Somehow Brenner got it charged to George's account and Glenn left a note with the check: "Explain this to NBC!"
R.I.P. George! (Beautiful horse farm in Comus)

Met him out in Chevy chase a few times and was truly nice guy. gave me hard time for not letting the wife through the door first...very funny comments and a good laugh. Always watched the "Sports Machine" before I even moved to the area. Always caught nbc 4 news for his great personality and on air banter with Vance. He'll be missed. RIP.
