Thanks for the kind words. Leda was full of life and quite literally acted like a puppy right up till about 4 months ago. She would have been 15 years old in march. Needless to say, the mood was kind of somber this afternoon. My oldest was holding her when she passed.

RIP. Undoubtedly, would be missed sorely, but on the positive side, was blessed to be part of caring family. Jimmy

JB -

Losing a dog is one of life's toughest hits. Having your oldest hold Leda when she went, gave her full love right from this life into Heaven.

Rest in peace Leda

Perhaps I've lead something of a charmed life in the sense that most of the losses in my life happened when I was very young or perhaps I love my animals more than I love people. Either way, the worst day of my life so far was the loss of Elway, my beloved Bull Terrier.

Love that last pic... out sunning himself in your deck chair. Yeah after my last dog died(Auggie-- a Bassett Hound) I swore off getting anymore dogs. Ever. Never say never I guess.

My Catharsis

Wanted to share this with you

The Rainbow Bridge

There is a bridge connecting heaven and earth. It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colors. Just this side of the bridge there is a land of meadows, hills, and valleys with lush green grass.

When a beloved pet dies, The pet goes to this place. There is always food, water, and warm spring weather. The old and frail animals are young again. Those who are mamed are made whole again. They play all day with each other.

There is only one thing missing. They are not with there special person who loved them on earth. So each day they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly looks up. The nose twitches! The ears are up! The eyes are staring! And this one suddenly runs from the group!

You have been seen, and when you and your special freind meet, you take him or her into your arms and embrace. Your face is kissed again and again and you look in to the eyes of your trusting pet. Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never to be seperated again.

RIP Joey and Elway.

Sorry I missed the drive on Sunday but it was a rough weekend for me. I had to put my loyal friend Cal down on Sunday. He had multiple organ failure and was starting to suffer. He turned 14 in June so I have little to complain about and much to be thankful for.

I hope JB doesn't mind I hijacked his thread? Thanks everyone. He was a fun little dog and until he got too old to climb on he loved to ride anything with wheels and motor. I couldn't get on my ATV without him jumping up and sitting in front of me with his front paws scratching up the gas tank. He didn't care how fast I went or how rough the terrain was. I need to teach the other dog to get my newspaper for me now.
