I thought of that also. I like "Musial field at Busch Stadium" personally - keeps with tradition. But I think AB spends X millions a year for naming rights, I don't know how well that will go over.

I trust Dewitt will do something special for Stan - that's the difference between an active local owner vs a global billionaire.

Agreed X 2. Dewitt has done nothing but good for the Cardinals, and something tells me what he'll do will be something more than just a patch on the uniform, something that will be around for the next couple of generations to enjoy.

The new Mississippi bridge connecting Missouri to Illinois may be named the Stan Musial Bridge.

I watched Stan's funeral - I thought Bob Costas hit the nail on the head with his eulogy.

I couldn't watch it - just didn't seem right vs someone who loves Cardinal baseball as much as Stan did.

The day of the announcement Costas was put in the spotlight - sort of pissed me off.

I agree. Costas is such a self aggrandizing media whore. And he's not even that good of a broadcaster.

at any rate, RIP Stan. thanks for dedicating your life to the cardinals.

In remembering Stan - it was about being a gentleman that cared for everyone around him. Black Green Poor Rich - it didn't matter.

Costas does not resemble Stan Musial in any way - as Costas teared up during his speech I gagged while searching for the remote.

I would have respected Pujols more than Costas who when called the man corrected the media saying do not call me the man - there is only one Stan the man and that's never going to change.

Anyway - tonite the Blues are going to wear #6 practice jerseys that will then go up for auction

I love this town - especially when it comes to people coming together

Bob Costas is probably one of the better sportscasters to come out of this town. Sure, he's done some stupid things, like his little gun rant a few weeks back, but still, one of the tops in the business. Unfortunately, they can't all be Jack Bucks or Harry Carey's.

Agreed on the town coming together - outside of Stan's death and going to the WS in 04, 06 and 11, when's the last time we saw this? When the pope came here 15 years ago? It's great when it happens.

And how bout them blues? Local ownership showing its class with the warmup jerseys tonight, plus they are one hell of a team this year. Looks like the Blackhawks are about the only team standing in our way of another President's trophy.

I agree he was once a great sportscaster that left his family and moved to NYC after having countless affairs while married - not the guy that should have spoken ... let alone he looks like a male version of Dolly Parton!

How about #6 of the Blues scoring a goal in his first game wearing the Blue Note.

Didn't hear that story. All I know is I feel bad for the kids of today, they'll never hear "that's a winner!" Said the way Jack would do it. Or the epic drunk dialogue between Jack and Mike Shannon. I miss those days, I just wish I'd of gotten to hear jack and Harry.

I know, right? I first learned about Stan's passing during the Pregame show. Fitting tribute. How about it being 66 degrees that day?

Well I'll be damned, they started "preliminary work" on ballpark village today, 7 years after it was supposed to be done. I still won't believe it til I'm actually inside a building on the former lake Dewitt.
