Winter Home in S. Fl Needed

After freezing in St. Augustine the last 10 years I am willing to admit that I need to move further south. Anyone with any ideas on a winter abode would be appreciated. Looking for a house with a pool. I expect to spend at least 5000. a month. Looking for fun place to live and drive my 348. Please. Andy

I have the same thoughts for next year. Three months in south Florida, near Lauderdale, no more than 15-20 min from the beach, with a pool, min of a two car garage, two or more BR. I'm done with snow.

I am 68. Two persons so a 2BR is fine at or near the water. 5 month lease. Garage would be nice for my 348. Andy

I have a second home in STL - market was crud and leased it for 4 years. Now that it's a "rental" only way to avoid taxes is buy something else and "rent" it for two years. Market is strong and it's going on next month should sell fast that's why I asked about how long.

Most likely Brickell or Key Biscayne - rent it out for two years then enjoy it.

Al it will be 2 minutes from sand.

Key Biscayne is nice, my parents used to live near there long time ago. Saw Nixon's winter home and his buddy Bebe Rebozo in the late 70s.

Agree it's nice but the thought of talking to people that have nowhere to go

Brickell at least offers a downtown feel.

reminds me of a joke - two guys are laying next to the pool. One guy says he retired last year after his business caught on fire.

The other guy says me too but after my business had a flood.

First guy says how do you start a flood.

Boca, Lauderdale and parts of Miami seem to attract younger crowds, but Naples and Marco Island sure are nice areas.

Personally, I think it's best to rent and have the flexibility to move around and explore new areas.
