Yeah I did (as they said in The Stripper)

I got singled out as I drove in and asked to park next to the pond to add a splash of colour to the official photos which were being taken from the castle (sounded good to me at the time, possibly nonesense)

There was some nice kit there.

When I bought my car, there were only a handful of models I would have chosen, but having looked round properly at everything today, I don't think that Ferrari have made a bad car. I would have taken any one of them home (but I didn't have room)

Didn't see you Dave, but the car looked fab .
Great to see everyone else we met & I have to say Arch, your little boy is a credit to you, impeccable behaviour & a real character:thumbup:
I've taken loads of pics, but TBH Tiff & Marlin's record of photo taking is so good that I'll not embarrass myself by posting mine

Very impressed by the portaloos:thumbup:
TBH, I was very impressed with the whole event, the setting was beautiful.
Thanks for your comments about my son, and your daughter was very good too.
Nice to meet you at last Al (and Tif, Marlin & ex-Boxer).
Let's hope we can arrange another get together next year?
Agree about the pics, Marlin & Tif's camera's put my little digital to shame, and TBH ifthey post their pics it saves me messing around uploading mine

Was a good day, although a little disappointing that there were more Bugatti Veyrons than Enzos.

Yeah, very surprised there weren't any Enzo's, they had an FXX last year, would have hoped they could out do last year. However, there was a very nice collection of rare 50's and 60's cars, plus the F310 F1 car and the 512 BBLM

Thanks, glad you spotted the car, without getting wet.

I went everywhere and saw everyone so you must have seen me but not known it. I think my dad and me were the only people there without full Ferrari attire. Subtle yellow fleece and me dad in a leather jacket. I did have a prancing horse on my driving boots though.

PS

Did anyone see the size of the Koi in the moat. You wouldn't need a lot of chips!

I didn't see a Bugatti Veyron. Where was that?

Great to see you guys at last and put some faces to names - what a nice bunch of blokes - Archie I think my wife would have taken Mini-me home with her - boy can that kid talk when he gets going - gave me a guided tour to ever button and dial in the cockpit !

Haven't sorted out the photos yet as I'm still hung over from the six hour drive home - I'll post soon.

Next time we'll sort out a definite 11.00 at Boxer's motor and we'll maybe see a few other faces.

Kind of overshadows the legendaryAndrew/Pete get-together

PS. Did Tif ever get out of that ditch ?

PPS. Veyron ?

The Veyron had to park in the general car park! Not a Ferrari you see...

Shame I missed the event. But by way of compensation it was hot and sunny at Hockenheim for the Ferrari Racing Days

Did he show you the rocket launcher, nitrous boost, jump and oil slick switches
Oh yes, he can certainly talk, we get it from 6.00 AM to 7.00 PM every day. He is also very opinionated, no idea who he inherited that from

What's this about Tif and a ditch?

Its OK for you Ferrari owners - you get to park on the side of a ploughed hill ! Us commoners were parked in an area which was easy to get into until people parked in the flat access road !
Tif was about two feet below road level when I last saw him

Here are some reminders of a fun day out.

Fab pics (as always) Marlin
Great to meet up with everyone, gutted you missed it Jonathan.
Apparently Francis told the Veyron owner in no uncertain terms that this was a Ferrari event & he was to park with the great unwashed (like me )
Also Tiff & I were chatting when the 288GTO turned up - my goodness what a toy!!!!!!!
& did I mention the portaloo's?????????????

I have to concur it was a fantastic day and I had a great time!

It was really great to meet everyone Thanks guys - you made it all the more worthwhile!

The Portaloos - what can I say - more dodgy wood trim than a BMW.

The only 'low' was trying to get out of the ditch they had parked me in, the road in was blocked by a Tranny. I thought I would reverse up the hill until I caught the low front spoiler on the grass bank and took a scoop of grass. The parking attendant was really helpful though and put out a call for the Tranny owner to move his wagon. Eventually I got out - hope I haven't damaged the front spoiler too much

Interestingly the parking attendant was telling me he collected Ferrari models and that his collection was worth around 30k now, he was thinking of liquidating it for the real thing! Amazing!

-
PS That the Lambo has been traded in for an F40 did not go un-noticed Archie!

Great photo's everyone
Your slide show is great Mitch, it even includes the Veyron:thumbup:

I might post mine later, but there isn't anything on them that hasn't already been posted.

Hope your SL's not too badly scraped Tif.

Alternative concours

We had Ferrari withdrawal symptoms today, so when my son came home from school we decided to hold our own concours.
Bugatti Veyrons and Lambo's had to park in the public car park.
Not all the Ferrari's could make it, some got lost on the way and ended up under the couch, the bed or the bottom of the closet, toy chest or school bag
