Happy 458 owner sad F430 spider trade in.
Well just bought a 458 italia, went to trade in my 2007 F430 and big to my surprise when they run a diagnostics on the vehicle the gearing was on its way out and also both collectors? are goosed, not entirely sure what they are but the arey about 2000 pounds each I think they said, well it just seems strange that they would be both gone, firstly what are they and secondly would it be common for them to both go, like wise the gear box?
The vehicle had 20000 kilometre on the clock...
Welcome to Ferrari Life. Header failure is a well-known fault of the F430, but am afraid not enough detail on the transmission problem. Sounds like an F1 fault or a clutch problem, but not the gearbox itself, which is pretty robust. You might ask for some more detail.
If you lived in the US, there is an 8 year warranty on the headers as part of the emissions warranty. Not sure if there is an emissions warranty in the UK, but worth asking.
Thanks Taz let me check it out and I will get back to you.
