Not a TR owner

Unfortunately it didn't work for me. Many of you may know I said I had bought a yellow Testarossa. Well, the day before I was going to pick up the car after 2 weeks of long waiting because of some technical fiscal problems the deal couldn't be finalized.

Maybe I sold the bear's skin before I killed it but since I had sent the payment after agreement with the seller(not the owner) I tought I could consider myself as a new owner but I guess I was wrong. Next time I'll deal directly with the owner and wait the ownership is in my name before telling others.

Payment was refunded today by the owner.
It leave a sour taste for me and will now wait a little while before shopping again.

God works in mysterious ways.

My condolences, but now you have something to look forward to again perhaps?

That is an odd situation. Perhaps the owner had a better offer that the dealership didn't know about? Too bad things didn't work out....but as 360 MODENA alludes....maybe it's for the best. Keep looking....something will come along and all the planets will align, and you'll be a very happy Ferrari owner.

Claude- Good news is you got your deposit back. Other good news is there are more of them out there. Out of the 2280 built, there should be a nice one out there with your name on her.

I agree with Terry and others - it's good news.

The hunt is one of the best parts of ownership - don't give up put one in the garage.

A lot of members here have fought a few rounds and thought they had the deal sealed - no big deal whatsoever.

Yes a good thing I got my money back because the car was almost fully paid not just a deposit. The remaining was the part the owner wanted in cash on pick up. 87% of the car was paid by bank wire.

Some update here. Since the deal fell last winter I've been slowly looking at TR's to find another one. Went to look at cars, drove some, negotiate etc. At the end I always had that yellow car in my mind. Couldn't find one that fit as good as this one for me. I was VERY VERY close to buy another one in red on tan. Then someone just came out of nowhere inquiring about that yellow car on another chat and got me hooked again.
I signed a purchase agreement and gave a deposit on the same car I had bought last winter.
This time with NO MIDDLE MAN. Everything was clear as Crystal and we came to an agreement and signed it. I will pick her up in spring.

Congratulations Claude,

It's true what Doug said. Sometimes it is the disappointments during the chase that finally bonds us to our cars. Those yellow TR's are truly stunning. Any pics?

David.

Congrats Claude!
I saw my first yellow TR this past summer at Katie's in Great Falls, VA
That color looks great on the TR

You might consider getting the CF glass engine cover, CF heat diffuser, HRE 18" wheels and the the F40 Brembo brakes as I did for my own TR. It would look especially good on a yellow TR and the handling and braking is unmatched by other TRs.

Enjoy!

Thanks! Well I plan on keeping the car fully original. It presently have only 20,000 miles with all books and Tools and is in very good condition. I want to find a ser of black leather luggage set. I like to see others car modified but not mine. My friend is prensently modifiing his 308 into something really special with blower and all body panels widened and the HRE wheels.

Understand Claude
Ask your friend to start a thread documenting his 308 mods.
I'm sure there are others interested in his plans
Enjoy the new car!

Claude- Very nice. That yellow appears to be a little paler than the current Giallo Modena, more like Giallo Fly, which I had on my Daytona. Looks great. Enjoy driving her and get used to the concept of oversteer.
