My First Ferrari

Hello All-

I fulfilled a lifelong dream last week and pulled the trigger on the 1991 Testarossa seen here- Rayco Eurospec Motorcars | 1991 Ferrari Testarossa

She is currently en route and should arrive later this week. I am very excited to be part of this community and look forward to learning about my new baby from all the knowledgeable members on this site. Stay tuned for delivery photos!

Cheers!

Awesome! Quite a statement, a TR - I assume you're not a shy guy? If you are you soon won't be!

Enjoy her to the full.

This morning my rosso corsa beauty arrived to her new home. I was already running late for work so I could only take her for a quick spin around the block. But tonight after the wife and baby went to bed I took a proper first drive. Warmed up the oil and took it to 5th on the highway. I am completely blown away by the driving experience of this vehicle. I have recently driven more modern vehicles that are a full 1-1.3 seconds faster than the Testarossa on 0-60 but I have never felt anything as fast as this car. It truly feels like I am riding a rocket that just wants to go faster and faster. I have a lot to learn about this car and how to drive it correctly but you need only take it to 5k once to understand why every owner in this forum is mesmerized by the Testarossa. I will post some delivery pics tomorrow.

Here are some pics (not the best due to phone and lighting). Needless to say, I am completely in love with my new addition. I have been fascinated by this car since I was a boy and it is hard to express how special it feels to finally own one. Many thanks to all the kind and well wishes of support from all.

Congrats on the new TR Tom.
I'll probably take mine to my grave.

Let me know when you're ready to upgrade the wheels and brakes, and add a glass/carbon engine cover so you can see the redhead without opening the deck lid. I've upgraded my TR a bit to give it a more modern look and improve performance.

Does it have an aftermarket exhaust? Cat deletes?

Have fun!

Thanks Mike! I see you're in Texas as well so keep me posted when your Ferrari rolls in and we will take a drive. I can finally say I have driven a real Ferrari (2 seats with a mid-mounted flat-12) and there is NOTHING like it.

Thank you sir! I am quite excited. She is 100% stock at the moment and that is how I am going to keep her until I really master driving the car. Then it will be Scud CCBs with 19" black 16M wheels for sure! I've always loved the glass/carbon covers on the Testarossa but after seeing the rosso corsa factory one on mine, I'm quite happy with it for the moment. Would you mind posting some pics of the modernizations you have done? I'm always interested in learning more. Cheers.

Tom, which end of Houston are you on? I'm up in The Woodlands.

Also, if you're not aware, there's a monthly Cars & Coffee meet at Vintage Park - 1st Saturday of every month. Unfortunately for you and your just delivered TR, the February meet was last weekend. Here's a web link if you don't have it: Houston Coffee and Cars - Where All Automotive Enthusiasts Meet to Share the Same Passion

High mileage, low compression, and missing on a few cylinders.....just like my cars.

Hey TomTR,

Thanks John. I am very familiar with C&C and was there this past weekend with my 993 and the PCA folks. I did not see one Testarossa! That will change next month my friend. Looking forward to meeting you in person soon.
