Can this be fixed?

I saw a Testarossa and I am having the PPI done on Saturday. There are a few issues with the interior.

The first one there are obvious scratches on the dash and the second the leather looks like it got warp from the sun...thoughts?

Also any thoughts on a well maintained 89 TR? I really think she is a winner. But going into the PPI maybe there are things I should tell my mechanic to check

Dear Ferraristi,

This is not a really big deal. Both items can be repaired without removing the dash.

Just tell the salesman how it detracts from the whole car and get a discount for it.

The dash pod can be removed as a single unit. You can just respray the pod with a color matched dye from Leatherique and put it back on.

Before you spray, there are some prep procedures that need to be done...but that's another thread.

The piece over the glove box is a foam covered fiberglass piece under the leather. It un bolts underneath just behind a panel behind the glove box. Again, you can repair this without removing the dash.

You would ( as I have done ) peel back the OEM leather, cut out the warped fiberglass, re-glass and with fiber reinforced filler and shape and contour. Once you have the raw piece to the desired shape, you would just glue back the foam ( new foam if the old one disintegrates in your hand). After, you would re glue the leather piece back.

You can always send both out if you're not comfortable in the repair...but you don't have to remove the dash.
