F40 fuel gauge

I am nearing tank replacement, and was wondering whether I can address the under-reading fuel gauge by replacing the sender unit at the same time. Mine reads empty with the reserve light on at around 60 litres consumed. I understand that this is a common issue. Has anyone managed to cure it?

When I changed the Fuel Tanks, I also replaced all Fuel Lines! Please do Yourself a favour and think about it! Not only the rubber tanks will age, but also the rubber fuel lines!

Are You sure, that only 60 litres are consumed? Sometimes the distribution to the tank on the other side isnīt working well, as the bleeding is not working. Try to open the opposite Tank Cap while refilling.

Thank you for the very helpful suggestions. I'll definitely be doing the hoses, and recharging the fire supression system.
