I wouldn't. Car does not need any extra power.

So what is the difference in an F40 with and without cats?

Depend on which type of cats you have now. Generally speaking, modern 100 cell racing cats will be like driving with straight pipes (quicker throttle response) and they will pass emission test (if required for you) if they are warmed up. 20-25 year old cats were restrictive and caused more exhaust heat upstream of them. With 100 cell cats, the excess heat blows out the tailpipes. I have seen about 10% lower exhaust temp and 10% higher tailpipe temp on dyno runs with new 100 cell cats. If you want my 2 cents on originality I'm not the right person for that. Rgds/Thomas
