Nick- Two more years and that one can be imported into the US without DOT/EPA modifications.

Terry- I've seen the car and it is very very beautifull... I think price is ok also.
It's an official Ferrari dealership also, full service history etc....

25 year old no import-tax or something in US Terry?

Nick- Affirmative. Once a car is 25 years old, it can be imported with no DOT or EPA requirements necessary. Quite handy, and there are already 87 and 88 F40s that are 25 years old.

Some serious differences between the US and Euro cars, one of which is the aluminum fuel tanks in the US versions and the racing bladders in the Euro cars.

So have a very high number of F40s. At least 30% and probably quite a bit more.

I dont know exactly but the accident was significant enough that the factory recorded it in a their database. The car was also repainted after the CF was repaired.
The service book was also lost and replaced in 2003.
Milage increased only 300kms since 2003.
Altogether , It put me off purchasing the car.

Understandable...especially with the Service book missing...that puts a lot of pressure on the 4'k "believe"...

Would you prefer a 1992 euro model over a US car?

Silverdino

Welcome to forum. Can identify with your enthusiasm regarding the F-40.
Try an e-mail to the FCA Regional Directors who can pass your request to the concours and the track guys for each region. Worth a try?
Good luck in your quest.

I will have info on a one owner German car that is in Maranello for service and changing of tanks, as well as classic certification.
I will give you guys the VIN and maybe you can tell me if its a good car.

What range are you looking at here? A pal has 2 and may be convinced to part with one as he's got a bid in on something else.
