An F40 would suit your driving style very well.

Oh Boxer, I would really, really love to own one some day! The lightest of all hyper Ferraris, utterly powerful in an intimidating manner and very reduced dimensions; my tea cup!

My sports car philosophy is spreading lots of mileage between many fun cars, so far four very fun but fairly "normal" Ferraris. Sure, those four could be replaced by an F40 but it would leave me with only one sports car thus parting from my philosophy. The icing of the cake would be adding an F40, absofrigginglutely. It will take some time though. The global economy is still slow, I feel obliged to reinvest in my business plus my boat is killing me with costs upon costs. Some day though!

Hahaa, that's what I was going to say. But I guess I know people with boats and planes and stuff and their passion runs deep too.

The F40 has long been my panicle Ferrari and one day it will be mine! Although I must say having followed Jimmy's 288GTO search it has really made me think I should aim higher.....one of each!?!?

Cheers
Michael

I do remember the costs associated with boats. Make Ferraris seem like a budget hobby.

But somehow you get the boating life style so deep into your blood that it becomes worthwhile. Besides, it's almost impossible to quit. Hopefully in two years I'm down to almost only regular maintenance for a good five - six years' stretch and that should make a difference.

Ferraris and their associated costs also don't make sense. It's all about living your dream. If you understand what it costs to run a Ferrari or run a boat, if it fits with your financial picture and your disposable income, then it becomes about realising a dream - doing something amazing that few people get to truly experience. And that is worth, IMHO, a lot of dosh.

People that are lucky enough to be J-class owners (old yachts that were used to run the America's Cup before WWII) spend a couple of million a year, excluding upgrading the boat, for maybe 5 races. I now understand that this can be worth the money. It is all about the money you can afford to lose, and how much you want to realise your dream.

But Boxer is right - owning a Ferrari is generally speaking much cheaper than being a yacht owner.
